About Sound Mind Psychology

At Sound Mind Psychology, we work in the areas of psychology and education, specializing in testing and evaluation. We provide our psychological testing services to Northwest Austin, Cedar Park, Westlake, Leander, and the surrounding communities.

In addition to our clinical director, Dr. Brown, Sound Mind has two psychometricians. All clients get personalized face-to-face time with Dr. Brown.

Sound Mind Psychology has been in business for five years. After 20+ years experience in the public school systems, Dr. Brown opened her own business.

The Sound Mind Psychology Difference

At Sound Mind we offer a "boutique" approach to testing. It is highly specialized and individually tailored. We offer state-of-the-art batteries that seek to answer the "why?" question regarding learning and other disorders.

We cater to parents who have struggling students and want to quantify where they are at, what the causes are, and what to do about it. Dr. Brown’s experience in the education system allows her to evaluate student needs with a mindset of what is socially and educationally relevant. This expertise assures a thorough knowledge of Response to Intervention (RtI), Special Education, and Section 504 requirements.

We pride ourselves on the one-on-one service we provide to clients and focus on building personal relationships with families. The testing process can be a difficult time for families, so we work hard to make the testing process as smooth as possible.
