Owner Spotlight: Amy G. Brown
I’m Amy G. Brown, proud owner of Sound Mind Psychology.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
I grew up in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Texas. I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University; I completed my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University and then did my Ph.D. in the University of Texas at Austin in 1999, specializing in school psychology.
At Sound Mind Psychology, I provide psychological evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults and specialize in individually-tailored psychological assessments that answer questions that people have about themselves or their children.
With over twenty-one years of experience working in public schools, I decided to start a private practice. I started Sound Mind Psychology because I wanted to do more of what I love, providing detailed evaluations so parents and families have better understandings of what they need. As my practice intersects people, education, and science, I knew it was the perfect career choice.
The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting face to face with clients. As a clinical director, my day starts with meeting parents and making testing plans. Throughout the day, I engage in face-to-face testing, analyze test data and provide one-on-one feedback to clients.
When I am not working, I enjoy trying new recipes, hanging out with friends, and attending church events. I feel very strongly about causes related to hunger and do my best to give back to my community. I also support the Youth Mission to empower young people to share their faith.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
If you, or someone you know could benefit from my expertise in psychological services, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit my website at www.soundmindpsych.com.
