Meet The Face Behind Sound Mind Psychology

I’m Dr. Amy G. Brown, proud owner of Sound Mind Psychology.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

After working in psychology and public schools for most of my career of twenty-one years, I found that providing detailed evaluations, so that parents and families have better understandings of what is need is something I am passionate about.

Five years ago, I started Sound Mind Psychology because I wanted to do more of what I love.

I now specialize in individually-tailored psych assessments that answer questions that people have about themselves or their children. I feel that meeting with parents, making testing plans, engaging in face-to-face testing, analyzing test data, and providing one-on-one feedback to clients, are various parts of my job that I derive maximum satisfaction from.

As Clinical Director of Sound Mind Psychology, I rely on my interpersonal communication to succeed at what I do. I also rely on my organizational skills to organize large amounts of data into an understandable format, as well as my ability to use scientific and experiential knowledge about psychosocial disorders to treat them.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my honesty, passion, caring nature, sense of responsibility and ability to respect an individual. These qualities, along with my skills, self-motivation and opportunity to do what I love have put me on the path to success. My dad who was Superintendent of Schools has also played an instrumental roll in my success.

When I am not at work, I enjoy trying new recipes, hanging out with friends, organizing the closets in our house, and going to church events. I am also passionate about Hunger and Youth Ministry and do as much as I can to assist these two missions.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
